Program Description

Objective: This program is designed to provide an enhanced return while maintaining the least amount of risk.

Description: The Investment Committee combines low-volatility mutual funds with selective use of margin to generate smooth results for clients. There are no restrictions on the type of investments purchased. However, there is an emphasis on limiting the overall volatility of the portfolio. Rather than purchase more aggressive investments to boost returns the selective use of margin with low volatility investments is used instead to enhance returns, thereby keeping overall portfolio volatility low. A variety of market indicators are taken into consideration when investment decisions are made in order to achieve an overall low level of risk to the client. Great consideration is paid to risk during those limited periods of time when margin is applied to client accounts.

Prospective Client: Mainstay Plus program is designed to provide conservative investors with an opportunity for consistent returns. This program is only available to clients whose accounts contain non-qualified (taxable) money. Clients should understand that while PFM's Investment Committee uses margin as a strategic tool, there is an increased risk of fluctuation, and so the Mainstay Plus program is best utilized as a long-term program. The typical Mainstay plus client is interested in the benefits of all our programs rolled into one.
