Our Team
The Potomac Fund Management team includes not only our Investment Committee, but a staff devoted to Operations as well as to Sales and Marketing.
Investment Committee
Mark is responsible for the strategic growth of Potomac and overall direction of the investment decisions.
He is a Certified Financial Planner and has been a student of economic forecasting for his entire professional career. His wealth of knowledge and background in planning give him unique insight into the markets and how trends can be used to the advantage of Potomac's clients.
After joining Potomac as a trader in 1991, Mark went on to master all aspects of the business. The challenges present in the industry enabled Mark to hone his investment management skills and embark upon a successful career as Potomac's President.
A passion for the outdoors — especially skiing — has inspired Mark to spend much of his free time as a youth ski instructor across the country.
Mark is a graduate of Frostburg State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
In addition to serving on the Investment Committee, Manish plays a vital role in the day-to-day management and overall growth of the firm.
As the main contact with custodians and mutual funds, Manish is responsible for investment screening and selection. With the use of in-depth proprietary software, in addition to interviewing the mutual fund managers, Manish helps Potomac select the very best investments on a risk-to-reward basis.
In his spare time, Manish enjoys playing golf and supporting his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins!
Manish is a graduate of University of Maryland-College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Rich is an active member of the Investment Committee and, through a license agreement with Potomac, supplies analysis, research, and judgment to the money management process.
Rich's career began in the 1960s as an engineer, where his expertise and interest in testing, analyzing and improving the accuracy of ballistic missile delivery systems provided the basis for development of the computer aided risk/reward analysis that are fundamental to the techniques used in Potomac's asset management strategies.
Having begun investing in mutual funds in the late sixties, Rich became disillusioned with the stock market after the 1970s bear market. Upon opening his IRA in 1979, he began successfully applying and refining his active risk management techniques to provide a more stable and superior risk-adjusted return.
The success he had in managing money for others, and with his own IRA, led to his formation of Potomac Fund Management in 1987.
Outside of the investment world, Rich is an avid tennis player and reef aquarist, collecting and preserving fish and coral specimens from around the world.
He also volunteers, mentoring young students who have an interest in mathematics.
Rich is a graduate of New York University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Operations

In her spare time, Martha enjoys spending time on the water with her family, and during the summer she races Log Canoes, antique wooden sailboats indigenous to the Chesapeake Bay.
Jennifer is our key contact for assisting new representatives with the account opening process, and getting them started on our platform.
She also provides back-up trading support to our Operations Manager, assists broker dealers with their due diligence, and coordinates our GIPS verification process.
With her background in manufacturing sales and marketing, Jennifer is able to enhance the relationships between Potomac and our representatives.
She is a graduate of Salisbury State University, and completed graduate work toward her MBA at the University of Maryland.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Kendle handles a variety of day-to-day tasks that enable Potomac to run smoothly and efficiently. She is responsible for processing new account paperwork and following up with representatives as needed.
In addition, she plays an integral role in our operations as support to the other team members.
